THE DAY WAS A HUGE SUCCESS! THANK YOU TO ALL FOR COMING.
God bless you to all that attended to help make this the success that it was. A special thanks goes out to Nancy & Harold Scott of Columbia TN for all their hard work in organizing this event! Thank you all for caring and your dedication to preserve this family's rich history. Through our efforts we have hopefully planted the seed that will be known as the Capt. John & Dolley Gordon Society. What we do as a unit with the options discussed by the National Park Service can go a long way in finally getting the home in the shape it should be. Each branch of the family stemming from the sons & daughters of John & Dolley will have a representative according to preliminary discussions. Dues & money raised will be used & matching funds sought to furthur the restoration process & get it back on track. THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS & IF ANYONE IS TO LEAD THE EFFORT IT IS US AS DESCENDANTS! CHRIS MILLER HAS BEEN A GOD SEND & WE THANK HER FOR ALL HER HELP WITH THE HOME & OUR EFFORTS. If you are interested in being part of this society please contact me at sharpp@mindpring.com. Be sure to join this site's yahoo descendant email list on the home page to keep up with the latest. THANKS! Bryan A. Sharp Mary Ann Gordon descendant & webmaster
